Why?
Open source has been critical to advancing the whole field of AI
Top Harvest wants to support nascent projects which can benefit the ecosystem
These are not investments, but are grants to be used for project-related expenses
What?
We are making multiple grants of up to $25K each to support nascent open source AI projects
In 2024, special interest in:
 AI in science (including life sciences)
Projects establishing benchmarks & datasets to help the field make systematic advances
We think of open source AI as: open code (+ open weights + open data where applicable)
How?
Applications accepted on rolling basis (no single deadline)
We are starting with US-based projects (for logistical reasons) and expanding soon globally.
